Keep Fit Together With Fun Activities and Bonding
If the cold Winter weather and darker evenings result in you taking shorter walks, you might find that you both start piling on the pounds. But have you considered taking your dog to the gym? These workouts will get hearts pounding and tails wagging (headbands and legwarmers optional).
Thank Dog Bootcamp
Inspired by Barry’s Bootcamp, Thank Dog classes are co-hosted by a personal trainer and a dog trainer and promise to lift, sculpt, and tone. Located in Nashville, Cortland - and newly opened in Japan - these workouts combine strength and cardio training and will leave you both panting!
Reebok Crossfit Thames
Dogs are welcome at this state-of-the-art East London gym and can choose to chase their toys (or tails) whilst their owners work out, or rest up on the couch. Regulars include a Shiba, a French Bulldog and a Cocker Spaniel. Milo, one of the coaches, is a keen dog photographer, so your pet can strike a pose for a paw-trait too.
Doga
For dogowners seeking zen, Mahny Djahanguiri is the UK and Europe’s leading founder and author of DOGA - Yoga for you and your Dog. She founded her brand Dogamahny TM in 2012 leading London based and International Dogamahny TM classes/workshops and teachers training program (alongside her furry companion “Robbe”). Class and private paw session available.
Barkfit
Washington based Boot Camp Barkfit claims to “strengthen your bond, one rep at a time” and is not for the faint of heart! Combining high-intensity training with agility, core strength and balance, this is a great one for dogs who just need to go that extra mile. Find out more and book a session.
Soma House
This dog-friendly club and gym in London’s Spitalfields, Soma House offers cycle, barre, and yoga workouts - plus amazing skyline views - and the whole clubhouse is welcoming to well-behaved dogs. Non-dog owners can work out under the watchful eye of resident pup Obree.
Working out with your dog not only keeps you both fit, but it also strengthens the bond between you and your furry friend. Whether it’s a high-energy bootcamp, a zen-filled doga session, or a fun agility class, these activities provide a great way for you and your dog to stay active and enjoy each other’s company. So why not give it a try? You might just discover a new way to exercise and create lasting memories with your loyal companion.
